Sisterhood of Temple Emanuel

Sisterhood of Temple Emanuel, an integral part of our congregation, is affiliated with the National Women’s League for Conservative Judaism. We support the ideas and practices of Conservative Judaism in our homes, synagogue, and community.

Members span diverse interests, ages, and backgrounds. Programs are designed to enhance personal growth, Jewish involvement, and feeling of community in a relaxed social atmosphere. We provide both moral and financial support to our synagogue, Jewish as well as local charities, and the Jewish Theological Seminary.

We sponsor a variety of educational, social, fundraising, and scholarship programs throughout the year.

Sisterhood invites you to participate in our events. Join us in a broad range of activities and form meaningful new friendships!

Services of Sisterhood

Our Judaica Gift Shop (Open by Appointment) offers beautiful, discounted ritual and gift items, custom-printed invitations and stationery for all your simchas, and custom yarmulkes for special occasions in a wide variety of styles and fabrics, all in a variety of price ranges to suit all tastes.

Other projects include Mishloach Manot Baskets for Purim, craft and culinary events, book club discussion groups with the author, Sukkot Dinner Under the Stars, special speakers, annual Paid-up Membership Event, Sisterhood Shabbat conducted by members, Community of Caring (provides meals, makes phone calls, runs errands, and assists families in times of need), participation in Women’s League for Conservative Judaism events, and more.
