Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley

Cantor's Corner

Music has always been an essential part of Jewish practice. It inspires the soul, soothes the heart and binds us together as a community. Our musical menu includes the following:

Shabbat Yachad

A bi-monthly celebration of Shabbat. Friday evenings at 8 pm featuring upbeat musical settings to the prayers, accompanied by a five piece band led by Cantor Biddelman on guitar.

TEPV Singers

Temple Emanuel is privileged to have an outstanding adult choir that has been performing for over 25 years. The choir presents two to three themed concerts each season following Friday evening services, participates in the local Pascack Valley Interfaith Thanksgiving service and performs at local assisted living facilities. The choir meets weekly on Wednesday evenings following minyan. The only requirement is a love to sing.

Religious School Music Education

The Religious School has a fully integrated music program. Our professional music teachers work with all grade levels teaching songs for Shabbat prayers, Festivals and the music of Israel.

Early Family Service

We have a special musical service for our pre-Religious School youngsters up to age seven. The Rabbi and Cantor conduct an early service the first Friday of each month geared to this age group with songs, dancing and stories.

CDs

Cantor Biddelman has recorded many CDs over the years which include many of the prayers used at our services and instructional CDs for reading Torah and Haftarah. They are available at the office and on our website below (right click on the links below in order to save):
